Developing Inner Satisfaction with Yourself and What You Do
You can find a lot of people today who are dissatisfied with themselves and with what they do, and they always look at others and feel bad about themselves. When people compare what they have in their lives with other who have accomplished much, they tend to feel bad about themselves and their situation in life. In truth, you have the ability to be satisfied with yourself and what you do. This can be a difficult task but it is not impossible. It is determination that will help you attain what you want for yourself and the job or career that you want to pursue. If you believe that you have this ability, then you will slowly be able to do it. If small progresses will make you really satisfied, then you are in the situation where you really want to be. With the right mindset and sheer determination, you will be able to attain the goal which will give you inner satisfaction with yourself and the things you are doing.
There is nobody else who can tell you where to go but you. There will be many people who will give you the wrong advice but don’t listen so you don’t have to be discouraged. Ask yourself questions on what you really want to see yourself doing each day and search for opportunities to do so. Look for opportunities to enter the field where you want to be. Don’t desire to be up the ladder immediately. You need to start at a low job but if you have the job then you simply need to climb up a ladder to be where you want to be.Just make sure to be open to starting low and slowly climbing up the ladder to where you want to be. Don’t despise these small steps because they will eventually bring you to the place where you want to be.
Planning is very important since it shows you the way to go. Daily tasks that need to be done is included in the planning stage. You can list fun things to do and you can list the more serious aspects of your life, like estate planning, for instance. Why do you need an estate plan?, you might be asking yourself. Yet, at some point in your life you need to think about this. It is an important matter to consider.
In your to-do list make sure that the top items are priority items. Categorize each item as priority or not. With this, you are sure that the important things are addressed first. When priority tasks are accomplished you get great inner satisfaction since these are high priority obligations. Once accomplished you are relieved of stress. If one of your priorities is to look for a new job, then start looking for one immediately.
Spend time alone to reflect on what transpired through the day, what went on in your mind, what responsibilities you were able to take care and what needs to be followed up; think about people and your relationships with them, etc. this is a good habit to develop especially in times when you are down.
